Mac N Cheese Party Bites are a great little snack, perfect for parties and snacks. No frying either! Macaroni, cheese, bacon and crabmeat in delicious panko breadcrumbs. YUMMY!
Oh my goodness! Calling all Mac n Cheese lovers! These Mac N Cheese Party Bites are AMAZING! Serve these little monsters when they're still warm from the oven and you will be in mac n cheese heaven!
For this recipe I've used left over mac n cheese which I made the other day. That recipe is Bacon and Crabmeat Mac n Cheese. The smokey bacon and the lumps of crabmeat, all combined with the macaroni and creamy cheese sauce is just lovely!
There's absolutely no need to go frying anything here. There's no effort to make these. All you need to do is make sure your mac and cheese has set overnight in the refigerator so you can cut it in to squares or fingers, then you're almost good to go!
The use of Panko Breadcrumbs in our Mac n Cheese Party Bites is to give the outer layer a nice, light and crispy crunch and then when you bite in to these, the cheese makes it all ooey gooey and luxurious!
These can be made ahead and frozen. All you need to do is just defrost at room temperature and warm them through in the oven for around 15 minutes.
So if you're planning ahead for a party, Game Day, got some friends coming over for Superbowl, a wedding, to make up part of your Thanksgiving spread, anything really, then no need to stress, make them ahead and freeze! Perfect.
You can serve these Mac n Cheese Party Bites as part of a main meal if you wanted to, add a nice Corn and Cucumber Picnic Salad to go with it! Or serve as an appetizer and add some of your favorite dips, such as our Garlic and Sweet Onion Caramelized Dip.
For those with a spicier palate, we have a nice and easy Jalapeno Pepper Jelly, and a Caribbean Mango or Pineapple Chutney which will also work well with these Mac n Cheese Party Bites.
Whatever way you choose to serve these, they will be a hit! That much is guaranteed. Oh, and one more thing, you could even use some cookie cutters in the shape of hearts and make Valentine's Day Mac n Cheese Bites for your sweetheart! How about that!
Or for Christmas, use Christmas Tree shaped cookie cutters or Snowman cutters and do that! So, there's some ideas for you and now let's get straight to the easy recipe and please enjoy!
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 30 Minutes
Serves: 9 pieces
Ingredients:
Left over Macaroni and Cheese, refrgerated. You can use our delicious Bacon and Crabmeat Mac n Cheese. It's delicious!
1 Cup Panko Breadcrumbs
1 egg, beaten
1 - 2 Tablespoons Olive oil or spray
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400 F, or 200 C.
2. Take your mac n cheese from the fridge and turn it out on to a cutting board.
Depending on the shape of it, slice it so you can make finger or square shapes, about 1 inch thick. Mine were 1 inch thick and about 2 inches long. Cut them so they are all the same size for even baking.
3. In a bowl, add an egg and beat. In a separate bowl, add the breadcrumbs.
4. Line a baking tray with foil and brush some of the olive oil on there to prevent sticking.
5. Dip each mac n cheese finger in the egg, making sure it is well coated then cover in panko breadcrumbs. Push down gently on the breadcrumbs to ensure they're well stuck on and there are no empty spots. Place on baking sheet.
6. Repeat egg and breadcrumbs for each piece of mac and cheese.
7. Drizzle the remaining olive oil on the bites then pop in the oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown. Half way through, turn them over so they're evenly brown.
8. Serve warm with your favorite dip!
**If you wish to freeze, wait until the party bites are fully cooled, and carefully place in an airtight freezer bag. Reheat once defrosted at the same oven temperature for about 15 minutes.

You have no idea how hungry you are making me with this! I wish I had some leftover Mac & Cheese so I could make this tomorrow. Now I just have to make some Mac & Cheese so I can try this. I'm going to rate it 5 stars even though I haven't made this yet because I know it will taste amazing!
