Easy Garlic Cabbage and Carrots Easy Garlic Cabbage and Carrots is a lovely side dish, perfect with a roast dinner or part of Thanksgiving or Christmas. Possible to make ahead too! #cabbage #carrots #Thanksgiving #sides #winter

Ingredients

½ a medium white cabbage, finely shredded
4 medium carrots, cut into matchstick-size
4 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tablespoons of boiling water
1 tablespoon butter
salt & pepper

Instructions

1. Shred the cabbage and cut the carrots into matchstick size.

2. Heat a pan under medium heat with a tablespoon of butter and add the cabbage, carrots and garlic.

TIP: I use a wok to cook this so I have more room in the pan to toss around.

3. Stir and toss, then add the hot water, turn the heat to low and place lid on the pan. Allow to cook gently until tender to your liking. I usually cook for around 6 - 7 minutes so the veg still has a slight bite to it.

TOP TIP!

Don’t let your cabbage or garlic go brown or burn as this will give a bitter taste, if the pan is too hot, turn the heat down and add a splash of hot water!
