Chocolate Banana Boats! Well, this really is a very simple easy recipe. If you love bananas then you will love this! These chocolate banana boats are perfect for when you go camping, the ingredients are easily transportable and of course, if you have the grill - BBQ on, then simply pop these on the grill after you´ve finished cooking your main food.

Once the bananas have warmed through, the chocolate melts and is simply delicious! Serve with a drizzle of honey or your favorite ice cream sauce, such as raspberry or toffee sauce and add a blob of ice cream or whipped cream. Simply eat straight from the foil or serve on dishes. Whatever is easiest for you.

You can have real fun with these, adding other ingredients such as marshmallows, sprinkles, toffee or fudge, crushed cookies.... whatever you have handy, give it a go! Let the kids help out too and roll the bananas in the foil for you.

For this recipe I've judged ingredients to make up for one banana. Simply multiply for as many as you need. Generally, 1 banana will be enough per person unless they're still hungry after the BBQ!

Ingredients you'll need

  • Banana
  • Chocolate
  • Honey, raspberry, fudge sauce for drizzling

See the recipe card below for quantities.

Instructions

  1. Peel banana and cut a groove out all the way down the centre. Make the groove so it is ⅔ deep into the banana. The easiest way I find to do this is to place the knife at a slight angle and simply score all the way down, then do the same on the other side so you cut a 'v' shape groove out. Remove the excess banana from the groove.
