says:As someone from Louisiana, I think we have the best food in the world. Being as we back that up with actual numbers – we kill more people with Obesity, High Blood Pressure, and Diabetes that any other State OR Country in the world, so that says alot. Now, that being said, this recipe is PHENOMENAL!! Me and my fiancee’ cooked this yesterday and it came out amazing! The cream cheese really sets it apart. We did make one addition to the recipe by adding some white crab meat. I would suggest if you like shrimp and crab, you definitely give this a go! You won’t regret it!

says:It says sauté onions and peppers in butter, but I didn’t see a butter amount. Did I miss..how much butter?
Lovefoodies
says:Hi Julie, you only need a little butter to sautee, just as you would add oil to a pan, I suggest just a tablespoon or so. Hope that helps!
Erika Valentine
says:Hi, just bought all the ingredients to make this delicious looking soup….I was wondering do I drain the corn before adding to the pot?
Lovefoodies
says:Hi Erika! I would drain the corn first, then add. Hope that helps and please enjoy! This is a delicious soup!
Happy New Year too!
Andrea Pellman
says:This was SO amazing! We used leftover seafood from Christmas Eve…shrimp, clams and crab, along with 1 lb. fresh shrimp. I added a little Old Bay in addition to Tony’s Creole seasoning. This recipe is a keeper! (I didn’t know what Rotel’s tomatoes was so added a can of diced tomatoes figuring it was the same.)
Lovefoodies
says:Hi Andrea! So glad you enjoyed it and the addition of the extra seafood sounds amazing! Just so you know, Rotel Tomatoes are a brand of canned chopped tomatoes that include chopped chili peppers or jalapenos. But it sounds like you enjoyed the recipe without the spicy kick anyway!
Thanks very much for writing in and wishing you a very Happy New Year!
