You get a lovely crisp from the pastry, a nice creamy custard filling bursting with bananas and of course that pie topping... OH MY GOODNESS! Whipped cream and more whipped cream makes this a delicious pie!

I really love this recipe. For the pie crust, you could make a few of them ahead of time and simply freeze and fill them with various pie fillings when you need.

This banana cream pie is also a lovely dessert top make for Easter or to take to a potluck or summer BBQ party. It always goes fast so be prepared to be asked to make it again and again!

For the Custard:

2 tbs icing (powdered) sugar

Grated Chocolate

Instructions

Make the custard as follows;

2. Put the rest of the 2 cups of milk in a pot with the butter and heat till just bubbling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

Make the Topping

  1. There is butter listed twice in the ingredient list, but it doesn’t state when to add it in…I used my own judgement and added 2 TBSP of butter in with the milk…

    1. Hi Diane, Thanks so much for catching that. It was a typing error on my part. So sorry!! I have amended the recipe and yes, your judgement was absolutely spot on! It is indeed only 2 Tablespoons and should be added with the milk!!
      Thanks once again. I appreciate you taking the time to write in and alert us of the mistake!
