    1. I made this and yes. It is that easy and I was concerned at the amount of vinegar used… but when I tasted it, this page got immediately added to my bookmarks.
This is a really good and really simple glaze.

      1. Hi Jeremy, I’m so glad you enjoyed it. The balsamic does seem like a lot but once it is cooking, the sharpness to go and you are left with a wonderful flavour. This also goes great with chicken, (oven or slow cooker) if you fancy experimenting a little in your kitchen!

Thanks very much for your feedback, and please do shout up if you ever need to ask about anything!

      2. Unfortunately, our “kitchen” consists of (literally) a closet with a single NuWave PIC burner, a dorm fridge, and a TV tray as a counter. I love to cook so it makes it a bit hard so I live crock pot cooking. In fact, I am going to be making this again tomorrow (it’s been a while since I made it… just never commented).
However, when weather permits (which is rare here), I am going to use it as a mari-glaze for either ribs or loin on the smoker. It has that flavor that’s just begging for some smoke.

        Ok, lovefoodies:
It took me a while, but I have the pork loin marinating to be smoked over mesquite tomorrow. Will keep you posted. :)

I doubled up to get it to cover the loin and will be putting some of the liquid in a spray bottle to use as a mop sauce throughout the day.

      4. Hi Jeremy, nice to hear from you! I’m so excited to hear how it all goes so I’ll be watching for your update!

Have fun and hope you’re enjoying the start of summer!

        Hey there, Foodies:

Here’s a peek at the dinner.
It turned out really well, despite some… issues.

When I went out to start the smoker, the weather report was glorious. However, about 1:30, I had 2 weather alerts pop up (severe thunderstorms, hail, and possible tornadoes). When the rain hit, it had already been in the smoker for about 3 hours so I figured no worries. I brought it upstairs and threw it in the crock pot to finish.
I was concerned because a lot of times, if you smoke with sugar marinades, it comes out bitter… but it didn’t. It picked up the smoke nicely, but the flavor of the marinade/glaze (glazinade?) was still shining.
I was very happy with it.

Don’t ask about the baked beans. I was going to make buttered potatoes but schedule went awry due to the afore mentioned weather.

      7. Hey Jeremy! Well despite the rain and storms, I think you did really well, and quick thinking to finish it in the crock pot. Your dinner looks fabulous (even the beans haha!) I’m so glad your experiment worked out. Smoking the meat is a great idea, imparts so much extra flavour.
Thanks very much for your updates, it’s been great to follow along your cooking escapades!

  1. I am so going to make this. I always buy pork butt roasts because no matter how I cook a pork loin(even though it’s supposed to be healthier) it always is dry & tasteless. The more you chew it, the bigger it gets in your mouth! I have everything but the roast to make this. When this blizzard of 2014 ceases and I can dig out & get into town, I’m getting one!!!

    1. haha! You make me laugh Susan! This is definitely a tried and tested recipe by many from our Facebook group so I have no doubt you will enjoy this dinner and guaranteed the meat will not be expanding in your mouth as you chew :) !!!!
