Jodi
says:Worst recipe ever it made the ham tast very oily and no taste . Maybe if it was made without oil in it. I’m sad it ruined my ham!
SueW
says:I would like to know what cut of ham everyone used. The first time I made this I used a pork butt and it turned out like pulled pork! It was good but not the ham I was going for! Help!
Diane F
says:Thank you for your patience with my dumb questions, am going to attempt it tomorrow. Will let you know how it turned out Thanks again
lovefoodies
says:It’s my pleasure Diane! I am sure you will do just fine!
Enjoy your meal and most of all, have fun!
Diane F
says:So you put ham flat side down and then pour liquid over ham and add carrots on top also. As you can see I do not cook very often need real specific directions Sorry!!!!!!
lovefoodies
says:Hi Diane, yes indeed! You do exactly that, it isn’t too important what order to put everything in, meat or liquid , just throw it all in, it really is that easy! You will be fine :)
Diane F
says:But 5.5 oz. is not even a cup? What if I am adding carrots to it should I put in more pineapple juice?
lovefoodies
says:Hi Diane, you don’t need to add any extra liquid. The ham will create some liquid, and if you are adding carrots, there will also be a little come from them too.
It’s a good recipe just as it is, with many people saying they enjoyed the recipe very much, so I am sure if you follow the ingredients, it will be perfect for you too!
Wishing you a lovely Easter!
Diane F
says:Is there enough liquid in the crock pot to cook the ham?

says:Would definitely sub out the canola oil – it’s a garbage oil.
lovefoodies
says:I’m sure any oil will work well T!
LG
says:I fix, basically, the same thing except, in place of the cider vinegar, I use dark rum.
lovefoodies
says:I love dark rum! Sounds delicious :)
Margo
says:Sounds amazing. But I’m curious, why the oil?
lovefoodies
says:Hi Margo, Peggy has said the oil is like a glove, so when something is coated with it, it seals in your flavors so they can’t escape. Hope this helps!
