Here, Cathy’s Slow Cooker Roast uses a less expensive cut of beef and turns it into a delicious tender meat, full of great flavour and perfect for dinner! Cathy’s shown us how she does this in an easy to follow guide by way of photos, so let’s see how Cathy makes this wonderful roast.
Recipe adapted from Karen at 365 Days of Slow Cooking by Cathy Kopp.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 4 – 8 hours
Yield: Cook as much meat as you wish.
Use a cut of beef suitable for slow cooking, such as a stewing or roasting beef.
1. Generously season both sides of the roast. I use salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried minced onion.
2. Wrap in one layer of heavy duty aluminum foil, turn, and wrap in a second layer of foil.
3. Place in slow cooker. I always use slow cooker liners for easy clean up.
Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-6 hours.
4. Remove packet from slow cooker and allow to rest for 20 minutes unopened. Carefully open the foil, slice and serve.
Cathy’s Notes :
I purchase large quantities of roasts when on sale. You can season and foil wrap them, then put them into freezer bags, label, and freeze. The foil-wrapped, frozen roast can go right into the slow cooker, but you MUST use the LOW setting for the longer period of time.
