Prep Time: 5 Minutes

Cook Time: 15 Minutes

Serves: 2 - 3 Persons

Ingredients:

1 1/2 Lb Ground meat
1 large Onion
1 Clove garlic, minced
1 Cup bell peppers, chopped
6 mushrooms, sliced
1 Large Can diced tomatoes
2 Cups Cooked Elbow Macaroni
Ground Black Pepper
Garlic Salt to taste

Instructions:

1. In a skillet, sautee the chopped onion until soft, then add the garlic, peppers, mushrooms and ground meat. Continue to saute until the meat is cooked.

2. Add the tomatoes and macaroni and bring to a simmer. About 10 minutes on a low heat. Season to taste then serve in a bowl.

Nanny's notes:
Sometimes I leave out the macaroni and serve on a bed of rice.
You could also add some corn if you wish to, and vary your seasonings, so you could add paprika or other spices to suit.

  1. Just to make it clear this is not Goulash, “Guly├ísleves” is a traditional Hungarian soup not a stew and not prepared like this way.

I added Ginger, sweet peas, soy sauce, oyster sauce and sesame oil. I also tossed the hamburger with seasoned flour before browning. This recipe is a keeper!

    1. Your additions sound great Cindy. I love using oyster sauce and this recipe would be perfect for the flavourings you used. Sounds so delicious!
