What can I add in chocolate bark?

You can opt for dried fruits like cranberries, a mixture of nuts, coconut, anything you like. All you need to do is follow Cari's easy steps on how to make your very own easy bark.
The addition of shortbread cookies in this bark really does add another wonderful texture and flavor dimension. Worth a try!

I've made Cari's easy bark recipe many times and varied it each time depending on what I have in the cupboard! On one occasion over the Christmas holidays, I made some Honey Spiced Roasted Nuts and added those to the bark. Oh boy! It was so tasty!

Makes a 9 x 9 pan

Ingredients you will need

  • white chocolate
  • milk chocolate
  • walnuts, peanuts, pecans and shortbread cookies

*** For the nuts and fillings, you can choose whatever you like the most. You can add raisins, other dried fruits, nuts etc. You decide!

Instructions

1. Melt white chocolate first in a bowl over simmering water, or a double boiler if you have one.

2. Put parchment paper in a 9 x 9 pan.

3. Pour the white chocolate into the pan.

5. Melt the milk chocolate after ( melts fast in a double boiler) and sprinkle it on top of the rest.

4. Sprinkle all the nuts, cookies or whatever you use.

6. Use a knife to distribute evenly and swirl.

7. Place the pan in the freezer until chocolate is hard. Around half an hour.

8. Then you take it out of the freezer and smash it on a table, so you get the irregular pieces and then enjoy!

  • 5 oz or 150 g of milk chocolate
  • 1 cup of walnuts, peanuts, pecans and shortbread cookies in total.
