Scotcheroos, an easy no-bake cereal bar similar to rice krispie treats. Peanut butter, chocolate and butterscotch with a chocolate butterscotch topping. A chewy, soft, and crispy treat and absolutely delicious!
Nanny Pat has made some of her Delicious Scotcheroos to share with us all. Nanny tells me she has been making these since she was a teenager and often takes a batch when the family come home for visits. They're always a hit and so popular, so now it's time for nanny to share her recipe with us!
Recipe by Pat Milton
Ingredients
1 Cup granulated sugar
1 Cup light corn syrup ** It should be the light and not dark color syrup. If you can't get it, maple syrup is also good.
1 Cup creamy peanut butter
6 Cups Rice Krispies (dry cereal)
⅔ Cup Chocolate morsels (semi-sweet)
⅔ Cup Butterscotch morsels
Instructions
1. In a large pan over a medium heat, add the sugar and corn syrup until it comes to a boil. Then remove from heat then stir in the peanut butter and rice krispies until all combined.

2. Spread in a greased 13 x 9 inch bake tray, pressing the mixture down lightly and evenly.
3. In a microwave-safe bowl or glass measuring cup, melt the chocolate morsels and butterscotch morsels, for about 1 ½ minutes.
Stir well, and pour over the Rice Krispie mixture in the pan. Cover the pan and refrigerate for at least 25 - 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
Nanny's Notes:
If you would like a thicker layer of chocolate, do 1 cup each of chocolate and butterscotch morsels.

says:Favorite! I just made these yesterday and brought them to work. My Co workers said I have perfected the recipe. I use 1 1/2 cups each of sugar and corn syrup, and 2 1/2 cups of peanut butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Then add Rice Krispies so they are still gooey. 1/2 bag each of the chips. Delish!
