Another of our Lovefoodies friends, Jean Wiggins has suggestions for cooking this in the crock pot:
"You can do it in your Crock-Pot too. Just don't mix the filling and cake mix together. Pie filling on the bottom of a well-buttered crockpot, then sprinkle the cake mix on top of that and dot with butter. No need for sugar in this one as it is very sweet on its own.
Cook times are approximate, as a guide for the crockpot cooking:
4-6 hrs LOW or 1 ½ - 2 ½ hrs HIGH"

Heather
says:I had a hard time getting this cake to cook properly. It was still runny inside, even though I gave it extra time.
rose
says:I was really excited to try this recipe. When I mixed it up it didn’t even look like a cake mix. It looked more like whipped cream with apple chunks in it. I think I needed to use a bigger pan though because it puffed up like meringue and overflowed. Unfortunately my daughter and I don’t like it at all. My husband liked it enough that he says he will finish eating it. I would still say if you want to try do so. Maybe it just wasn’t the right recipe for my family.
Janice
says:Does anyone know how many WW points this recipe is per serving ?
Amanda
says:Complete flop.. Made it exactly as directed.. Still in the oven at a hour.. No where close to being “toothpick clean”//

Jane Rutzler
says:I think I am missing something..is this cake mix prepared? Or do you mix them together with the dry angel food cake mix? I am dying to try this with cherry pie filling…
lovefoodies
says:Hi jane, no, it’s really as simple as it says. take your pie filling and your cake box mix, combine them and put in a pan and bake :) That’s it! Enjoy!
Mary
says:This sounds good. Do you also have a recipe for peach cobbler that’ real easy?
lovefoodies
says:Hi Mary, yes I do! It is actually a rhubarb one, but just swap the amount, fresh or canned, up to you, check the sugar to your taste as the peaches will be sweeter than rhubarb, and away you go! It’s SUPER SUPER easy! Enjoy.https://lovefoodies.com/rhubarb-cobbler.html#.Udhu9PnI2So
