Easy Marble Cake
The Cake :
/ 250 g butter
/ 200 g castor sugar / super fine sugar / bakers sugar
1 1/2 / 190
cups AP flour
/ 30 g cocoa powder
/ 60 ml milk
of whipping cream
of chocolate chips
Hersheys Chocolate Sauce
optional for drizzling on the top
Preheat oven to 180C, 350F, Gas 4. Grease and line a loaf tin.
Sift flour and baking powder.
Beat eggs and add vanilla in a bowl. Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Add egg mixture, a little at a time.
Add half the flour, then milk, then the rest of flour. Divide cake batter mixture into 2 bowls.
Sift cocoa into one of the bowls and and mix. Alternate spoonful of vanilla and chocolate cake mixture into tin.
Use a skewer to swirl around the mixture.
Bake 35-45 mins or until skewer comes out clean.
For the Mousse Frosting:
Put cream, butter and choc chips in a heavy base pot and heat till smooth. Let cool completely.
Using a mixer with a paddle attachment, whip the chocolate mixture with the sugar until fluffy.
Spread on the top of the cake and sides.
For serving you can also drizzle some Hershey's Chocolate Sauce for an extra hit of chocolate!
