London broil is a North American beef dish made by broiling or grilling marinated Flank or Top round steak, then cutting it across the grain into thin strips.
Prep Time: 10 minutes & 2 days marinade
Cook Time: 20 – 30 minutes (to your taste)
Yield: 4 – 6 Persons
3 lbs / 1.5 kilos Flank or Top Round steak (some butchers in the US refer to it simply as London Broil Steak)
1/3 cup / 80 ml olive or vegetable oil
1/2 cup / 120 ml vinegar, I use balsamic.
2 tbsp peppercorns
2 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp rosemary
Slices of lemon
1. Mix the above ingredients and put in a jar and shake to blend.
2. Pour over the broil, and add sliced lemons. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 days.
Cook on a hot grill for 15 minutes per side. Let cool for 15 minutes and slice thinly across the grain like in the photo. This will give you maximum tenderness.
