Here, Jeanette has made Easy Pretzel Bites, and oh yes, you can be certain they are really easy to make, and more importantly, very delicious!
Jeanette tells me she often makes these and varies the dip she has with them, and likes cheese or hot mustard.
You could of course make up a sweet or savoury dip..oh, imagine these with nutella!
The possibilities are as wide as your imagination so let’s see how to make these pretzel bites.
Recipe Jeanette Hanson-Parker
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 -12 minutes
Yield: as many as you wish!
Raw pizza dough
5 cups water
1/4 cup baking soda *** Please note this quantity has been reduced following feedback.
Coarse sea salt or sugar. You can choose savoury or sweet pretzels.
Use any dipping sauce you like , I use cheese or hot mustard
*** Please note, there are no quantities given as it depends on how many you wish to make.
1. Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees then roll out dough to 1 1/2 inch thick
2. Cut into strips, 5 inch long pieces and tie into knot.
3. Set aside in plate.
4. Put 5 cups water in pot with 1/3 cup baking soda bring to boil then place 4 knots at a time into boiling water for 30 seconds. Using a slotted spoon take out of water and place on greased baking sheet. The knots should be dimpled and puffy .
5. Once all knots are out of water and on baking sheet, brush each knot with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sea salt , bake 10 to 12 min or until golden brown ,
And then Ta da pretzel knots ……use any dipping sauce you like , I use cheese or hot mustard …….enjoy
