Creamed Corn is delicious! I know you can buy this quite easily in the shops, however, it is easy to make your own, and you have the added benefit of only adding ingredients you know, without any preservatives, chemicals or too much salt. It takes moments to make, and can be used for many things, such as a simple side dish, in dips, fritters, add to a batter or loaf… the possibilities are endless!
1 cup or 200 g of canned or frozen sweetcorn
1 cup or 280 ml milk
Salt & Pepper
2 Teaspoons Cornstarch
A dash of tabasco sauce (optional)
1. Add all the ingredients to a pan and heat until thick.
** if the creamed corn is not thick enough mix some more cornstarch with a drop of water and add. Stir until thick.
2. Place in a blender and pulse until a little smooth, it’s nice to have some chunks of corn in it so blend to how you like it!
